Saints Row DLC problems!

Posted by Jason Triplett

So I met up with some of the viewers of the site to show off this gear. Below is a photo I took to show this meeting. They told me that none of these items are appearing on my guy, instead it shows as default clothing. This screen was to show them what I see on my screen.

So what happened? Why is it on my screen and not the others? Well the following is what I was told by a Volition developer:

"I just got some advice some developers here that there are some bugs with the DLC that are getting fixed with the patch -- bugs people weren't really supposed to see.

I'm going to advise you to delete that content- as cool as it is-

Go to your xbox dashboard, system, memory- and you should be able to delete it. Otherwise, you may experience some weird problems with this currently unsupported content."

So this means that every September XBOX kiosk disk is defective, giving bad content. The Dead Rising content I got from the same disk is also not working. However, I will be vindicated if the content is fixed and stays the same, for you will all see it first hand.

In the meantime, please don't transfer this stuff to your game until you are sure the disks are replaced. Otherwise, you'll see the items on yourself, but they don't show up online. These disks hit XBOX in-store kiosks as ealy as the 28th of August. The devs know of this issue now and are addressing it.

Tony Jaa is back in "The Protector"

Posted by Kevin

The trailer for the new Tony Jaa movie is up today on the Apple trailer site; it's even in high def. The story seems pretty much along the same lines of Jaa's first movie, Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior. Jaa's small village is terrorized by a gang of terrorists that destroy their villages sacred ways, so Jaa is put in charge of making the bad guys pay for what they've done. How does he go about doing it? He brings the fight to the terrorists city and battles them all into oblivion on their very own turf. If you saw Ong Bak you know Jaa puts Mr. Chan to shame in every department, except for the whole slapstick comedy stuff. I don't think Jaa is comedic in any way, he's also not a very good actor. Wooden to say the least. But when he steps up to throw down some martial arts voodoo he throws down bigger and better than anyone else in business right now. Jet Li and Jackie Chan don't have anything on this guy, if you think I'm wrong feel free to leave me an angry email, but I've been doing martial arts for 13 years. So I know what I'm talking about. The Protector hits theaters September 8th.

Crackdown DLC info!

Posted by Jason Triplett

Normally I am not the type to copy & paste anything, but I feel the article says it all. There is new information on the DLC for the game Crackdown, and we would like to share it with you!

"At the Leipzig Game Convention, Crackdown producer Peter Connelly told 1UP about the downloadable content plans for the Microsoft-published title. According to Connelly, Crackdown will see a demo before the game ships. After the game is released, in the first 30 days (as per Microsoft's preferences -- they talked about it at Gamefest), the first batch of downloadable content will be released. That batch is ten new playable agents. The agents will be playable in both single and online co-op modes and will be part of a single download (not divided up into multiple packs). Currently, there is no female model among them. Connelly explained that creating a female character would take a ton of work because of the redesigning of the animations and bone structure for a female character. Connolly isn't ruling out a female character as downloadable content at some point, though.

The next piece of downloadable content the Crackdown team plans on releasing is what they are tentatively calling a "replay editor." The replay editor will allow players to capture moments from their Crackdown experience. It might be a huge chained explosion they set up, or a recording of them juggling a semi truck with rockets from the game's rocket launcher.

Finally, Connelly expressed the team's desire to add another island to Crackdown's city. See, the game takes place across three islands (think full-fledged cities for these islands) and adding a fourth is something they'd love to do. The problems adding a fully-featured island to the game are numerous, though. Existing code in the game would have to allow for the rerouting and redirecting of traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular onto the new island -- but Connolly said the team coded Crackdown with this in mind. While the replay editor and 10 Agent downloads are very real, for now, adding a fourth island to Crackdown isn't nearly as much of a reality."

Sounds GREAT!

Chainsaws, Turtles and Saws

Posted by Kevin

I saw the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre trailer in the previews before Snakes On A Plane. Why are they messing with a classic? What was wrong with the original that they felt they could do better? I know, I know, it's real title is: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. Yeah, yeah it's the story before it all happened. In my world the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is among legendary status. I'm not feeling too good about this one. I'll go see it none the less when it comes out, but considering who they picked for the lead in the last remake, Jessica Biel?!, I'm not too optimistic. I was going to include a link to the very strange trailer, but the filmmakers have done something strange. You can see the trailer on the film's web site but only between the hours of 10PM and 4AM. Perhaps they are trying to create a scarier effect for those who watch the trailer by forcing us to watch in the middle of the night? So, to save lots of confusion about a broken link I opted to leave it out. If the trailer comes up 24 hours a day I'll list it, until then though this little article will have to do.

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer is up, holy crap it's incredible looking! Turtles going digital just might be a good thing. The stuff they do is the stuff the turtles have been dying to do since their comic book days back in '82. Check it out and I think you'll enjoy what you see, come March the heroes in a half shell kick their way into theaters.

TMNT Trailer

And finally the new official SAW III trailer is up running. Pretty ****ing awesome looking. I'm a massive fan of the SAW movies and I know people like to criticize them into the ground but you have to admit that among all things horror they are a very refreshing idea to a lot of stuff that's coming out. SAW III hits theatres this October, the perfect Halloween flick. Probably better than a haunted house.
